This delightful necklace features a handmade, pink ceramic bird pendant, highlighted with pink and green freshwater pearls and finished with a brass clasp.

The focal point of the "Spring Song Necklace" is a deep pink ceramic bird pendant. This eye catching bird pendant was handmade by Yoli Miramontes of Yolanda's Clay Studio. The sweet bird is depicted standing on a branch with sprigs of flowers above and to the side of it. The edges of the pendant are slightly recessed, creating a frame-like effect. There is a pretty, decorative flourish on the top and bottom of the pendant. The rose pink pendant is glazed on both sides and measures 2.25 inches (6.4 cm)high. The artist's initials are on the back.

Magenta colored freshwater pearls add a deeper pink note to this striking necklace. These pearl have been drilled asymmetrically so that when they are strung they create a lighthearted, wavy pattern. You won't find pearls like these in a typical big-box store. With the artisan made pendant and the tip-drilled pearls, you know you'll be getting admirers!

Small, green, center-drilled pearls create a colorful splash of interest throughout the "Spring Song Necklace" Two dappled pink glass beads are placed toward the back of the necklace, signaling a transition to a bit of brass chain and then, the brass hook and eye clasp.

I was inspired by Yoli's wonderful pendant. I love using tip-drilled beads. They add so much interest to a necklace and you will see them often throughout my shop. Magenta and green are one of my favorite color combinations. It makes me think of peonies or roses with green leaves. I hope this necklace gives you the happy feeling I had when designing it!
