Aventurine is a slightly translucent to opaque variety of microcrystalline quartz; it contains tiny inclusions of shiny materials which is what gives the stone a sparkling effect known as aventurescence. Inclusion that consist of mica will give a silvery shimmer, while inclusions of hematite will give a reddish or gray sparkle.

Common aventurine ranges in color from green, peach, brown, blue and a creamy green.

Aventurine is found in India, Chile, Spain, Russia, Brazil, Austria, and Tanzania.

Care: Clean with soft fabric or non-abrasive polishing cloth. Jewelry should be worn after the application of cosmetics. Avoid direct contact with perfumes, hairspray and deodorants. Store wrapped in soft fabric or sealed in plastic bag.
