Frost patterns on our Main St apartment window. I was lucky to live in this erratically heated, cold damp apartment for the whole of the worst winter Colorado has seen in a decade or two. Lucky, because every morning I was greeted with these wonderful patterns on my windows. We have since moved on from the apartment, and forgotten how miserable it was, but through these photographs, the beauty still remains.

The patterns in these photos are macro photos of frost on various windows in our apartment. The colors are produced by the various lights shining in through our windows: traffic, traffic lights, the dawn, the sun rising, the blue sky or the dark trees silhouetted against dawn, the pale green of the pine trees in the mid-morning sun on particularly cold mornings.
