Frost patterns on our Main St apartment window. I was lucky to live in this erratically heated, cold damp apartment for the whole of the worst winter Colorado has seen in a decade or two. Lucky, because every morning I was greeted with these wonderful patterns on my windows. We have since moved on from the apartment, and forgotten how miserable it was, but through these photographs, the beauty still remains.

The predawn sky is what gives the rich blues of this shot. The amber and golds in the photograph are the traffic lights and car headlights in the street below. A thin film of oil on the kitchen window lends exotic rainbow tints and shapes to the gray of the frost patterns.
