The carved rose was purchased in Mexico and brought home with no idea what I was going to do with it. I believe it is Jasper. It's ivory colored with dark blue veining.

After about a year of looking at it I decided to incorporate it in a rose trellis. The carved rose is attached to an ultra suede backing and seed beads were stitched all around in leaf and vine shapes. The necklace chain was made with peyote stitched seed beads and small rose buds twine up the chain.

The necklace is 18 inches long to the top of the rose. The mounted rose is nearly 3 inches from top to bottom of the stitching. The closure is a gold plated lobster claw clasp.
