Shimmering Pink Sakura Omiyage

Product Description

An omiyage is meant to contain a special gift, the kind of thing remembered long after its consumption- - - or, kept for a lifetime.

The flower face fabric is right off the boat, a shining pink club pattern. The other fabrics come out of my very special box, reserved for making treasures such as this. Some of them are bought as crazy quilt fabrics. These are a mixed bag of types.. but all are washable.

Every once in a while... I am out of cut omiyage... I devote 2 or even 3 days cutting them out. I sit in my room in the sunshine only so I KNOW the colors I'm seeing are the real colors. Sometimes I have to "fussy cut" each petal or leaf, that is, cut it out by itself.

These omiyage take a very long time to finish... And just to find the right fabrics to go together takes a while... you have to build up a supply, to choose from.

But on that day or days when I cut omiyage, I feel as if I were a very rich woman... my hands touching feeling and deciding, cutting petals and leaves and baggies.

This sakura omiyage has a 2 and 1/2" gift pocket. With traditional fabric beads at the ends of the ribbons.
