Larimar and Sterling Silver Ring, Size 7. Blue high profile cabochon set in Sterling silver with a thick band.
Larimar is an opaque stone in pleasing patterns of blue and greenish blue similar to the color of the ocean in tropical climates. Larimar was named by a Dominican for LARIssa his daughter and MAR the Spanish word for sea. Larimar came on the market in the1970's and has to date only been found in the Dominican Republic.

This is a one of a kind (ooak) art piece. I personally had cut this gemstone and forged the silver to show the stone to its best advantage. This stone exemplifies the tropical water feel for which larimar was named.
