Product Description
"The Old House" is an 8.5" x 11" archival print of the original Endpaper. It shows a woman in a hat and gardening gloves clipping a flower, with a ramshackle old house and a leafless tree in the background. The text reads, "Now the old house is soft and sinking; only the fieldmice call it home. But every once in awhile, she comes back and cares for the wildflowers."

This is a great gift for the gardener in your family, or anyone who loves old houses. Custom matting and framing starts at $10 in the Matting/Framing section. Want to add a personal note? Look for this design in the Greeting Cards section!
Inspiration/Story Behind This Product
Each Endpaper represents the last page of a story, drawn and typed on blank pages from the backs of old books.

This was the first real Endpaper I ever drew! I spent a lot of time messing with the composition of this one, especially the placement of the text. The house was inspired by some of the old abandoned farm buildings near my hometown of Sonoma, CA. I loved drawing that house, especially the lines of the wood. It's amazing to me to see something that used to be so hard and geometric droop into such a soft, organic shape.

My mother owns the original Endpaper, and it hangs on their wall next to "Worth It," (#007) which belongs to my father.
