Each Endpaper represents the last page of a story, drawn and typed on blank pages from the backs of old books.

This bird was SO much fun to draw! I looked at dozens of pictures of peacocks to put together just the right pose. Peacocks are known for their color, but the limitation of black ink really focused my attention on the beautiful patterns found in their feathers.

Fun fact: this was the first Endpaper I ever sold! The wonderful Judy Theo gave me a weekend booth at her Red Wolf Gallery (www.judytheo.com) in August of 2007. She put an announcement in the local paper and everything--I felt like such a professional!
