This is an 8.5" x 11" archival print of the original Endpaper.

It shows a young girl in a swimsuit, flippers, and snorkeling gear. She is clutching an umbrella in one arm and dragging a toy wooden giraffe on wheels with the other. The text reads, "And off she went!"

This is one of my personal favorite Endpapers, and also one of the most popular. It is an excellent way to celebrate all kinds of journeys, from graduations to weddings to a big move. Each Endpaper represents the last page of a story, drawn and typed on blank pages from the backs of old books.

I'll admit it: I love this Endpaper because I see all my favorite parts of myself in that little girl. Her enthusiasm, her lust for adventure, and her odd assortment of tools (weapons? friends?) make me smile every time. If I could live out any of the stories contained in the Endpapers, it would be this one.

I'm proud to say the original "Off She Went" hangs in the classroom of Wendi Wellender, my former roommate and schoolteacher extraordinaire.
