Each Endpaper represents the last page of a story, drawn and typed on blank pages from the backs of old books.

A few of my Endpapers make me laugh out loud whenever I look at them. This is one of them! I have so much fun imagining stories about Mrs. Nesbit. Sometimes she is the ostrich, outraged at the destruction of her hat by some third party. Sometimes Mrs. Nesbit is an unsuspecting lady of fashion with a fondness for ostrich feathers. No matter what happens, fancy hats go flying, which is always funny (unless, of course, you're the talented artisan who created the hat).
