Product Description
This is a Signed Bookmark from an original painting in Colored Pencil and India Ink by me, Melody Lea Lamb.

This is a fun way to enjoy my miniature paintings! I enjoy working in a graphics program where I dismantle my own original art and then redesign the painting in a book mark format. Each bookmark is signed by the artist (me!) and dated. The protective plastic sleeve measures 2.5 inches by 7 inches with an extra 1.5 inch area from which to hang a favorite tassel. The bookmarks are printed from my brand new Epson Stylus PHOTO R260 printer with revolutionary Claria Ink on Epson High Quality Ultra Premium Photo Paper with a Matte finish. These little gems are rated to last 98 years or 200 years if kept in your book. (Thats a long time!) :)

This is what my customers have to say about these bookmarks:

Beautiful, signed, in plastic sleeve. Great for gifts and keepsakes!

Hope to buy more from this wonderful seller. Love the bookmark! Thanks!!

As always, an excellent product!! The colors are very true to the originals!!

Wonderful artist, beautiful bookmark and great extras, thanks so much
Inspiration/Story Behind This Product
My miniatures usually follow the same steps in technique. I start each piece with a very detailed ink drawing using India ink and a technical pen. Then I add a rich ink wash in the background. I begin layer after layer of colored pencil (which is wax based) over the ink drawing. Since the colored pencil is translucent, the ink drawing shows through very slightly. Finally I scratch through in some areas to highlight the texture of fur or hair. The very last step is to add some white acrylic and a bit of ink to strengthen lights and darks. You can see every new painting's step by step on my blog http://melodylamb.blogspot.com/ or on my website www.melodylealamb.com . ************************************************************************ Artists Statement: "When I begin a miniature painting of a particular animal, landscape, or woodland being, I find myself becoming slowly and completely enamored with God's/Nature's perfect creation. With each stroke I am more in awe of this spirit and throw myself into capturing what inspires me. Its a process filled with heart and my hope is that I can convey at least some of this feeling in each painting I create."
