These sleeves are fit for a Medieval or Renaissance lady or would even look good as part of a modern look (with, say a black shirt and jeans) when you want something just a little bit fantastical.

The sleeves are crocheted from soft black acrylic yarn, and they have a trim on the bottom of off-white wool (or alpaca? It came from northstaralpacas.etsy.com) with a string of shiny gold tinsel-type thing in it. The flowers are crocheted from white cotton crochet thread (and are sewn onto the sleeves- there is one tiny part where I was trying out fabric glue behind it [the inside of the bell], but its not noticeable. This is just a heads up so you know its there), and the flowers and the sleeves have silver dots of fabric paint to give the sleeves some extra shine. The top of the sleeves lace up with white ribbon, so they can be tightened to fit a smaller sized arm. The good thing about crochet is that it can also stretch a bit to fit a larger size, too.

The upper arm (where the ribbon lacing is) is about 8 3/4" (22.2 cm) around. Its about 8"(20.3 cm) at the wrist, and the flair of the sleeves is about 23" (58.4 cm). They are 11 1/4" (28.6 cm) long from top of the sleeve to the bottom of the bell.

I would recommend handwashing these in cool water, because of the wool on the trim.

I made these sleeves for an online challenge of "books"; unfortunately, I didn't finish them in time, but I *am* fortunate because a later challenge was "movies". My favorite movies and books are the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy, especially "The Two Towers", and since Éowyn is one of my favorite characters, I decided to make something in a style that she would wear. The little white flowers are my version of Simbelmynë, the flower that grows on the tombs of Rohan.
