This One-Of-A-Kind teddy bear was created from a cashmere sweater. These cashmere creations are amazingly soft! Cashmere is a luxuriant wool from the Kashmir goat. Kashmir goats are primarily raised in Mongolia, Iran, Tibet, India, China, and only recently in America. Cashmere is harvested from the goats during their annual molting season through the shedding or shearing of their down. It takes one little goat four years to produce enough wool to make just one sweater!

For those unfamiliar with my work, I started to number my bears consecutively when I became a professional Teddy Bear Artist, so the number on this teddy how many other teddy bears and other animals I had created (over the past 20 plus years) up to this teddy.

My teddies are intended as a collectible, not a toy, but these Cashmere Critters have safety eyes so they would not be unsafe for a child who enjoys collecting.

I have been a Teddy Bear Artist for over 20 years, since 1988, and I specialize in One-Of-A-Kind teddy bears and other animals recycled from vintage mink stoles. My mink creations are very time consuming to create and very hard on my hands because I hand sew all of my mink creations. So I decided to add Cashmere Critters to my already very popular mink creations. These cashmere teddy bears and other animals are easier and faster to sew, and also more colorful! I have an extensive collection of cashmere sweaters that I will be using to create teddy bears, frogs, rabbits, cats, dogs, and maybe a few fantasy creatures too. I will continue to make my mink creations but hopefully I will find some time to also create some cashmere critters.
