While in china there is an adage "大智若愚"(da zhi ruo yu), it means a man of great wisdom but appears slow-witted. Because of the special origin, the meaning containing, also coincided with the ideal of Mr. TAKEMOTO, it was used all the time even now our own brand of handmade eyewear "竹本镜郎"was born.(translate to TAKEMOTO in English.)
Mr. TAKEMOTO was born in an ordinary peasant family around the Xiang lake which is in Zhejiang, China. There he experienced all the hard work that a country boy should, and became practiced in carpentry and painting. At 12 years old, he began to learn traditional Chinese painting and handwriting, both of which are the quintessence of Chinese culture.
