"竹本",it is a pen name, which came from a love story long time ago."竹本",this two words is taken aparted by the chinese character "笨" which means stupid and foolish. Mr. TAKEMOTO was born in an ordinary peasant family around the Xiang lake which is in Zhejiang, China. There he experienced all the hard work that a country boy should, and became practiced in carpentry and painting.
