Breakfast at Tifaneez is a product of my un-restrainable imagination. Eggs sunny side up, bacon, half an orange, and a nice hot roll create a perfectly balanced breakfast...ring, on a plate that measures 1 1/4 inches across.
Visions of all kinds circle my head waiting for their birth. The breakfast foods you see here are all created with different treatments of Polymer Clay. Even the plate is of polymer clay that was pressed into a mold I created from a vintage button. While this ring is cute, light, whimsical, and just plain fun, hours and hours of work go into preparing colors, textures, shapes, transparencies, ect.. to achieve all of these individual effects that you see plated here! It's a labor of love. The ring base is ornamented with a floral design, is base metal in an antiqued silver tone, and is adjustable in size. The style of ring is called a bypass ring, meaning the section that adjusts exists under the plate of food, not at the back of the ring...allowing for a great deal more comfort in design!

My journey and fascination with miniature foods began with a book titled, "Making Miniature Food and Market Stalls" by Angie Scarr. What is it about itsy bitsy beautifully made miniatures that draws us in? I don't know...but I'm there...enchanted, bemused, and driven to create from time to time in that way.
