For this particular vessel I approached the design with a feeling of the ancient and mysterious. Although the base of the vessel was torched with transparent gray Moretti Italian Glass, the surface was treated with specialized frit, hand applied swirls of transparent cobalt, and a couple of pieces of fiery blue dichroic glass for a jewel-like effect. The shape is slightly flattened on one side to give the piece a resting place if put upon a vanity, and if worn as a pendant to allow it to perform with grace, rather than bobbing about. The top is attached to the vial with Sterling Silver chain and a perfume dauber of Sterling Silver has been mounted into the cap. The over all shape is a Bombe effect and artistically the coloration, texture, ect... emanates an ancient feeling. Dimensions of the piece are 2 3/8 inches by 1 1/4 inches. As the vessel exists, it is perfect for a vanity ornament. It is possible to wire the vessel for use as a pendant for a necklace. There is no additional fee for that service. If you prefer to have it wired for use as a pendant just let me know! Alterations are confirmed prior to shipping with pictures via email.
