I torched this bead last year and have been hording it until a design spoke to me of something as special and lovely as a rose. Ive been on a thing for rings this past week and this lentil was begging to be a ring so I listened! All of the glass in this bead is imported Italian Moretti Glass. Flamenco rose is created with a base of black glass, forming a dramatic background for a rose in layers of petals alternating in reds and oranges that are popping hot colors. Trailing vines in variegated green scroll around the rose here and there. The center of the rose has an embedded CZ (Cubic Zirconium. No trapped air to distort the lovely sparkle of the facets...just a neat drop into the hot glass where I created a divit for it to fit, and a cap of molten clear. Next the lentil was smoothed, polished and pressed into a brass mold to shape it up a bit, and finally flame polished to a nice silky smooth finish. A slow cool in a kiln for annealing and this bead is good to go with long enduring quality. The lentil has been wire wrapped with hand twisted 14k Gold Filled wire and round Sterling Silver wire to form a very secure setting and band. Ring size is 6 3/4. The lentil creates a ring table that measures 18mm or about 3/4 of an inch. Its a ring that expresses many things and all of them are good!
