Purple Orchid Fairys Crown

Product Description
This is a flower crown meant for a queen--a fairy queen! This headpiece is made of wire with a brown rafia-type coloring, making it look very natural, like a branch, perhaps. This crown is asymmetrical. In the front and a bit to the right are four purple orchids. On the right, I have loosely wrapped a purple-fuchsia ribbon (which continues to trail down your hair). On the left side are the buds of the orchid branch. They are very uniquely shaped. Trailing ribbons in purple-fuchsia and thinner purple ribbon adorn the back. You can let the ribbons hang free, or use them to tie the crown, should it be too big for you.

The crown should fit most; the back is left open so it is adjustable. The base is wire so if you did have a smaller head, you could reshape it to fit (but that probably won't be necessary. This is NOT for children!) The ribbons hang just over 2 feet (63.5cm)

Inspiration/Story Behind This Product
The Legend of the Wild Orchid
In an early Mexican city famous for it's artists and sculptors, a powerful god and goddess were blessed with an incredibly beautiful daughter. She was so beautiful that they could not bear the thought of a mere mortal marrying her. Her name was Morning Star.

During trips to the forest, carrying flowers to the temple, a young mortal prince caught site of Morning Star and fell immediately under her spell. Every morning, before going into the forest in search of flowers for the goddess, the young prince hid the in the undergrowth, awaiting the arrival of Morning Star.

So overcome with desire, the prince decided he would make his love known his love for her, and flee with her to the sierra. As she passed, he leaped from the bushes, proclaimed his love and, taking her by the arm, ran deep into the forest with her. Morning Star was at first startled, but she soon fell under the spell of their star-crossed destiny.

As they reached the first mountains, their forbidden love was discovered by the gods and they were struck down on the spot.

Not long after, on the exact site, a bush sprang forth. An emerald vine sprouted from the earth, its tendrils intertwining, much like the young lovers' embrace. The tendrils were fragile, the leaves full. And one morning, delicate yellow-green orchids appeared all over the vine. From the orchids, slender vanilla beans developed and, over time, released a perfume more splendid than the finest incense offered to the goddess.

The orchid and vine were designated as a sacred gift, a divine offering to the world.
