Red and Silver Ribbon Christmas Ornament

Product Description
This red and silver ribbon Christmas ornament is a one of a kind ornament perfect for your Christmas tree. This ornament is extremely lightweight because it has a styrofoam core. I then covered it with different decorative ribbons. I used a satiny red damask design, a thin red satin ribbon, and a sparkly silver ribbon with a ruffle.

Red is always a popular Christmas color! It will match your current Christmas decor. And you definitely will not find an ornament like this anywhere else, my ornaments are always one of a kind. And as an extra bonus, it's unbreakable! This is a foam core, so not only will it survive being knocked off the tree, but it won't weigh down any branches, either!

I say Christmas ornament because we generally associate ornaments with Christmas. But as you can see, there is nothing overtly Christmas about the ornament. If you don't have a tree for whatever reason, there are other ways to use ornaments to decorate your home, and it can be done in a way that doesn't scream "Christmas".

Try a few in a bowl as a centerpiece, perhaps with pine cones or faux fruit. They also look great in a wide-mouthed vase or fish-bowl type of vessel. Use them in wreaths or garlands to add color. They would be welcome in any gift baskets you may be giving out this season. If you have a little basket or bowl of guest soaps in your restrooms, this would be a pretty way to add color and charm.

Inspiration/Story Behind This Product
The earliest ornaments appeared in the early 1800's. They consisted of fruit (particularly apples) and nuts. These, along with the evergreen trees themselves, represented the certainty that life would return in the spring. Other fruits began to be added, along with paper streamers and bits of shiny metal foil. Whether a tree was lighted or not, the idea of reflecting the light in the room where the tree stood grew in popularity. Another concept began to take hold with German families in whose homes the first trees resided. Food, often gingerbread or other hard cookies, would be baked in the shape of fruits, stars, hearts, angels and bells.
