Monkeys Fists are a traditional knot used as weight at the end of a heaving line. The heaving line is used to pull the dock line to the pier. With this we stood the tradition on its head. While it looks like a heaving line weight, its actually buoyant and will keep at least 2 keys afloat if they accidentally fall in the drink.
