This beautiful handmade baby quilt was created using fabric from the Santorini fabric collection. This would be a great heirloom for the little one in your life and it is big enough to use well into the toddler years.

This fabric collection by Lila Tueller for Moda was inspired by a tiny Greek island in the Aegean Sea, rich with ripening olive groves and lush tropical gardens. The colors of this collection are fresh and welcoming; just like the summer sunsets.

This quilt is 46" x 50". I machine pieced it in a zigzag design, then placed a small border around the zigzag using white Egyptian cotton. The quilt was quilted using my long arm in a fairly dense meander pattern using a off white thread on the top and a yellow thread on the back. The backing is a soft yellow flannel with a very thin stripe.

The batting used in this quilt is a 50/50 bamboo and organic cotton blend that is naturally antibacterial. I love using this batting because of its environmental friendliness.

I have washed this quilt giving it a slightly puckered vintage look. The quilt can be washed on a gentle cycle setting in cold water with mild detergent and tumble dried. This quilt was meant to last and last, it will be in your family for years and years!
