The fabrics used to make this elegant sofa throw or lap quilt are traditional batik designs screen printed (as opposed to hand dyed) on 100% cotton fabric. The batik designs from Indonesia date back more than 1000 years. The colors in these fabrics is so rich looking, really spectacular.

This handmade quilt measures 56" x 68", the perfect size to drape around you on cool evenings, keep it close by fold it lengthwise and drape it over the back of the couch or chair. It would look lovely folded and placed at the foot of a bed. It will add a bit of color and style to any room.

I have quilted this quit using my long arm, in an all over loopy meander with gold thread. The binding was made from the same material as used in the borders and was machine stitched on the front, folded over and hand stitched to the back of the quilt. The backing fabric is a cozy soft black flannel.

The quilt can be washed on a delicate setting in cold water with mild detergent and tumble dried on a low setting. Please do not dry clean. I have already washed this quilt giving it a slightly puckered vintage look.
