Sultry scarlet red Czech glass beads and aged copper wire-work combine to create a necklace as unique and memorable as the character, Scarlett, in the novel "Gone with the Wind".

A distinctive eye-catching pendant, hand-crafted by me, dangles 2 inches from the center. Tiny deep plum colored fire polished beads accent and create contrast with the deep red beads and dark copper wire work.

Each hand made link of the chain is decorated with a tiny plum hued bead. The necklace fastens with my own hand formed copper clasp.

Scarlett measures 18 inches in length.

The look and feel of the piece I wanted to create was one of delicate strength with a hint of sultriness, much like the famous Scarlett in the novel "Gone with the Wind". When presented with these richly hued beads, I knew copper wire work, darkened with a rich patina, would just set these beads off perfectly. The addition of the tiny deep purple fire polished beads provided additional visual mystery and interest. I think Scarlett would have worn this necklace with pride!
