This pendant is formed from a 1" square of 18 gauge pure copper that is stamped with the constellation Crux and hammered on the edges. The pendant features a soldered bail of sterling silver beaded wire and hangs from an extra heavy jump ring on a sterling silver 18" 1.5mm ball chain. All components have been oxidized for a rustic patina. If you prefer a shiny version just leave a note at checkout. The pendant is 1mm thick. The bracelet will arrive in a gifty box. U.S. shipping INCLUDES INSURANCE. The pendant is also available in 20 gauge sterling silver for an extra $20. Crux is easily visible from the southern hemisphere at practically any time of year. It is also visible near the horizon from tropical latitudes of the northern hemisphere for a few hours every night during the northern winter and spring. Contrary to popular belief, Crux is not opposite to Ursa Major. In fact, in tropical regions both Crux (low in the south) and Ursa Major (low in the north) can be seen in the sky from April to June. Crux is exactly opposite to Cassiopeia on the celestial sphere, and therefore it cannot appear in the sky with the latter at the same time.
