The items shown here are ostrich feather sprays. Each spray consists of 10 or more ostrich drab fibers. Drabs are the body feather of an ostrich. Drabs are very different from the wing feather plumes, most noticeably in the way that short drab feathers do not droop at the end the way a wing plume does. The drab fibers and quill are much finer, softer and shorter. An ostrich drab is a craft item popularly used for hats, headbands, headdresses, and hair clips.
