Antique 1925 Paris Fashions Pochoir Print Featuring Madame Pompadour Skirt Styles and Couture

An stunning original French pochoir print from Paul Louis de Giafferri's 1925 magnificent folio work ~ 'History of Feminine Costume from 1037 - 1870'.

Hand-painted on card, these prints are simply scrumptious. This plate features nine hand-colored illustrations of 'Jupes', or Skirts, from the era of Louis XV and his mistresses, Madame de Pompadour and Madame du Barry, 1640-1715.

The heavy paper is blank on its reverse, measures 10.75" x 14.625" (27x37 cm), and shows gentle edge tanning. With bright and lovely colors, the papers are clean and smooth and each has a French text key at the paper's bottom. There are no tears, folds, creases, or marks on the paper.

An absolutely gorgeous fashion plate to frame, a wonderful addition to your paper supplies to use in your art. Wonderful for card and tag creations, for your decoupage or collage, for scrap booook page making.

This is one of the folio prints published in 1925 by Paul Louis de Giafferri. Published in 10 separate sections, each section focusing on a specific time period in French women's fashions. The sections begin with a full page colored plate labeling the time frame for the coming chapter and a text description of the time period and a description of the attitudes of the women toward fashion as well as what fashions were evolving during the time period.
