An embroidered, mechanical butterfly adorns the top of this full-length apron. Gears, metal parts, and cogs combine to form a steampunk-style butterfly, which is over 4" wide and has been stitched using 10 colors of thread. Accent color is customizable; a purple accent is shown in the photo. Bottom of apron hits mid-thigh on most people.

Other apron colors are available by special request (red, black, coffee, hunter, maroon, red, royal, white, and washed denim). This insect design was inspired by the steampunk style. But what is steampunk? Steampunk has occasionally described as a brown version of Goth because it's currently popular with many teenagers and young people as an alternative look. That look usually combines traditional elements of Victorian fashion with technology. And by technology, we mean Victorian-era technology: gears, airships, and other forms of mechanical wizardry. It's rooted in history, but with a very new twist.
