Product Description
Here is a panel of heavy fabric featuring an embroidered airship. The embroidered fabric is ready to frame or can be used for your own project. If framed, it makes a stunningly detailed piece of stitched art. However, your imagination is the limit for possible uses.

The airship embroidery is modeled after a combination of a sailing vessel and a hot air balloon. The rigging is trimmed with sails and flags in red and grey-blue. There are also accents of what would be painted red wood on the body of the ship. Ballast hangs beneath the ship in the form of a barrel and three sand bags. At the bow of the airship, a mermaid figurehead watches for land and turbulence alike.

The embroidery itself uses 17 different colors of thread and over 55 THOUSAND stitches, which makes it very time-consuming to produce. It has been stitched in polyester embroidery thread, so the thread is colorfast - you would not need to worry about colors bleeding if it ever got wet.

This gorgeous piece of stitched art is embroidered onto unbleached drill. Drill fabric is a heavy, almost canvas-like fabric. The airship embroidery measures 6.62"w x 7.78"h, which would allow it to fit into an 8"x10" frame. The fabric is uncut, so that it could be used under a mat for a larger frame, if desired. Any framing shop will know how to stretch the fabric and frame it as wall art.

You could also use the embroidered airship fabric to create your own project. For example, you could sew it into your own tote bag and carry it to a neo-Victorian convention as a part of a steampunk persona.
Inspiration/Story Behind This Product
This design is inspired by the writings of Jules Verne (Around the World in Eighty Days), one of the first sci-fi writers. I originally envisioned framing a piece like this for my son's bedroom to act as embroidered artwork. I wanted to spark his imagination while introducing him to classic literature. I also like that it fits into the recent, hot steampunk trend - so hopefully my son will think I'm a cool mom for putting it in his room once he gets a little older.
