"Calm Before the Storm"

This original 30" x 24" oil painting was done in the dark by candlelight, which is one of my favorite ways to paint. As I paint by candlelight I have an idea of what I think the colors look like, how they're blending and how the painting is going to turn out. It is truly astonishing and a little bit of a thrill as I turn on the lights at the end to reveal a painting that is way different than what I had anticipated- yet absolutely amazing and incredibly original every time!

The painting is signed on the front and will not have the copyright stamp on it when purchased (it was digitally added to the picture for online viewing only). The sides of the painting measure just shy of 1.5" and have been painted black so that you can immediately enjoy it on your wall without a frame.
