Product Description
This is my Pink and Purple Quilled WindowBox #6, handcrafted by me in New Hampshire.
It is one of a kind and is my original design. It is one of my 10" x 10" WindowBoxes. It is couble matted and framed under glass in a white oak frame (shown in black frame).
These are 10x10 framed pieces which include a quilled flower, my own hand rolled paper beads, fancy cut mats, beautiful hand-made papers, a couple strips of pretty scrapbook paper, and a lot of love. They are a joy to make and keep me thinking about new ideas.
I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy making them.
Every WindowBox is one-of-a-kind and framed in a wood frame. Let me know if you have a favorite color. I will make up a WindowBox just for you. If you love it, you buy it.........If not, you don't. Custom, your color, my way. Lots of fun.
What is Quilling?
Quilling is a very old craft. Its name comes of the old practice of trimming the gold edges from books, and then winding the narrow strips of paper around feather quills, using the quill for the tool. Once rolled into circles and pinched into various shapes, the paper is used as texture and detail in pictures. My own technique uses the quill work as a background and details to cut-outs of wildlife. The quill work simulates the feathers in the duck and birds, the scales on the fish, the veins in the wildflowers, and the fur on the moose.
I want to create pieces that will make you stop and rest awhile, pieces that you will really want to be a Part of Your Life.
