Vintage Westmoreland Milk Glass Square Dish with Open Lace Work Edge is a rare and wonderful example of the beauty of the Westmoreland Glass Company's extensive line of milk glass. This vintage dish is in Mint condition.

This square vintage milk glass plate is very unusual in its design; most often the plates available are round. This Westmoreland dish's edge pattern has a curvy repeating "s" shape following all sides and fans out into a shell shape at each corner. I have not been able to discover the name of this pattern. The translucency of this delicate pattern is very apparent in this open scrollwork design.

This funky square plate will add charm & style to whatever you choose to use it for. Great on its own or as part of a collection, or use it to serve cookies or other small offerings. You could even use it in the bath for petite soaps.

I could see this plate being used decoratively too, with fruit, sea shells, pinecones or whatever is in season for a natural design element in your home.

The Westmoreland mark is on the bottom dating it after the late 1940's. It is approximately 8.5 inches in width and length. The center measures about 5.5 inches.
The border is about 1.5 inches wide. This Westmoreland milk glass serving dish would be a great gift too (with or without the cookies)!

I love milk glass too! When I found this at an estate sale of course I debated, not whether to get it but rather to keep it or sell it! Buy once again I had to ask myself "how many serving dishes do I really need?" So I am hoping that someone will come along who is also passionate about this special area (serving items) of collecting, and this beautiful milk glass plate will find am honored place in a new collector's home.
