Product Description
This piece was made from colored porcelain clay. First I colored several batches of porcelain by hand with Mason stains, and layered them into a loaf. I sliced off a piece of the loaf, and pressed the clay into a plaster mold that I have made from a real sea shell. When it dried, I sanded the clay to bring out crisp delineations. The piece was then bisque fired to make the first transition from clay to ceramic. Next I put glaze on the piece to provide a non-porous surface for food usage. Then I fired the piece to maturity at cone 6. Absolutely One Of A Kind!

It is suspended from jewelry wire and finished with a copper clasp. You can either hang it from a hook ( not included) or simply wrap the wire around a branch or other object and clip the copper clasp around the wires as shown. About 3" x 4".

Fill with treats or water for your feathered neighbors. Wash with soap now and then to keep it clean. Don't leave out to freeze in winter with water in it.

My bluebird family loves these! I hang one next to their nest box, and I put out a tablespoon or so of dried meal worms every day. Here are some pictures of them enjoying them last summer:
