Copper Dashboard Marker, I made this particular nameplate for the RustyDragon, our Steampunk Pirate Ship we are building, so you will Not be getting the item in the pix, Your Item will be Custom Stamped to your Specifications. The RustyDragon Nameplate is 1 3/8" wide by 5 1/4" long, with mounting holes at each end. Your Nameplate will be similarly custom handcrafted from ReCycled old DWV copper pipe. (the much smaller nameplate is also available here on Etsy, it is somewhat thinner gauge metal and 1 inch wide by 2 3/4 long) I hacksaw the pipe into random lengths & slit it with snips. After that I head over to the anvil with a hammer and pound the pipe flat. Next step is to get a fire going to anneal the copper for easier stamping. After annealing, the strips are cut into smaller pieces, a hole is punched in one end, and I go crazy with letter punches. its very relaxing hitting things with a hammer you know ;) After Lettering, the pieces are pounded flat again, rough buffed with some 180 grit sandpaper and then worked over a bit with steel wool. This one got several minutes on the Buffing wheel too, its kinda shiny ! But its still natural, and will not stay shiny, it will do as copper does, and gain a fine patina quite quickly. Two handcrafted medieval copper rivets will be included with this nameplate. Hammer and rivet set not included my available fonts: Big Letters are half inch tall, Small Letters are quarter inch smaller letters are 1/8 inch this price is good for something similar to the Rustydragon nameplate. Say, about 15 letters. If we are writing the Gettysburg Address, there will be associated price adjustments the green background in the pictures has half inch grid. Everything here is ReCyCled from junk and perfection is not on the menu. Each marker is differant, even if I try to make them the identical. Same with the stakes.
