The front of this folded card shows a lagoon with someone hiking along the shore under a beautiful pine tree. I used an airbrush to paint the original; this is an inkjet print about 4 x 6 inches (10 x 15 centimeters). The card itself is slightly larger. The inside is blank, ready for your own greeting or note, and an envelope is also included.

This painting is of Stone Lagoon, along the coast of northern California, a lovely place not far from home. I hiked there with my friend, and was subsequently inspired to do this painting showing her walking along the edge of the water.

Since I have used an airbrush for many years to paint my animal wood carvings, when I started painting that was naturally the tool I used. I gives the colors a softness which I enjoy. I spray through stencils which I have cut, to give harder edges.
