These lighthouse embroideries achieve a painterly quality through subtle shading of thread colors and heavy stitch counts. The Bodie Island design uses 15 colors and has over 37,000 stitches.

The actual embroidery is 7.5 inches high by 4.5 inches wide and is framed in a 10 x 13 frame. The wooden frame is whitewash with a deep blue mat.
