This handmade, art glass bowl is our artistic interpretation of the game of pool. Solid and striped billiard balls in an unexpected raised design make this a fun accent piece that's perfect for any game lover or game room.

Our one of a kind billiard bowl is an art piece that's functional, too! Use it to serve snacks or as a garnish plate - to contain loose game pieces, playing cards and yes, even chalk. It's as versatile as it is unique.

Measures approximately 8 inches square by 1-1/2 inches deep at its center. Capped with clear glass to ensure food safety. Hand washing is recommended.

This bowl consists of more than 40 individual pieces of art glass that were each hand cut and shaped to create a solid square. The square was then covered with a sheet of clear glass and kiln-fused into a 1/4" thick piece of solid glass.

The glass billiard balls were made separately, then tack fused to the center of the piece in a second 12-hour kiln cycle.

Finally, the piece was formed into shape in a third kiln-firing, where it was heated to a point that the glass softened and conformed to one of our ceramic, bowl-shaped molds.

Each of the three kiln-firings for this piece included a slow, controlled cooling (or annealing) cycle.

We made this bowl in our home-based glass studio near Dallas, Texas. We use only high quality art and dichroic glass from U.S. manufacturers, which we cut and shape by hand, fuse together at temperatures in excess of 1500° F, and thoroughly anneal (or cool) in the kiln for 6 to 8 hours to prevent cracking.

Please be aware that small bubbles sometimes form in our pieces during the firing stage. This is not uncommon with fused glass and usually adds interest to the finished piece.
