This painting was created for the monthly Sea Gods Artists Mermaid group. The challenge for the month of november was to depict a thanksgiving scene with mermaids.

The idea I had in mind for this painting was two best friends,a mermaid from the crystal blue seas and a princess from dry land. The met when they were very young, and throughout the years they became very good friends.
On thanksgiving day, they always meet by the sea, bring gifts to share with each other!
To thank and appreciate each other for their beautiful friendship.

The princess brought a big basket filled with delicious fruits, yummy pastries and cookies, even sushi and chocolates to share with her dearest friend!
The mermaid brought the princess a basket made with a giant sea shell, filled with rare fruits and flowers grown in the depths of the seas and some
beautiful glowing colorful jewels, all wrapped up in colorful long strands of seaweed.
They love to spend many hours together chatting about so many fun things, and learning about how different both their worlds are. The neatest thing is, they are both named Aquamarinna! One of the land, and one of the sea!

Being thankful for all the blessings in my life and my many friendships with great friends all over the world has inspired me to create this painting. What a better way to say thank you, for your friendship?
