These are illustrations by Virginia Frances Sterrett. She unfortunately lived a very short life and only illustrated 3 books in her lifetime; Tanglewood Tales, Old French Fairy Tales, and Arabian Nights. Her work is very Art Nouveau, with a definite Aubrey Beardsley and Arthur Rackham feel, but with a grace and elegance all her own. The colors are vivid and rich and the lines are flowing and graceful. The black and white illustrations are bold and graphic. These are spectacular images and marvelous examples of Art Nouveau decoration.

Each page is scanned at 600dpi from vintage or antique books of my personal collection. All images are in the public domain and are under no copyrights. Each file is cropped, edited, color corrected and scaled to size. Concentrated attention is given to the cropping and placement of each detailed high resolution illustration, photograph, etching, engraving, woodcut or image.
