Handmade European Byzantine chainmail necklace in bright silver colored aluminum with a handamde lampowrk glass focal bead in rich earthy colors. Sterling silver wire and denim blue swarovski crystals accent the lampwork glass pendant. Each saw cut jump rings has been opened and closed individually to make this weave. The rings are made of aluminum so this necklace is quite light to wear. The chain is 16 inches long with the pendant adding another two inches to the over all length. Close with a simple round toggle clasp. The lampwork glass focal bead was made in my home studio and kiln annealed for durability and strength.


Many of the chainmail weaves that are being used today are centuries old and were used to make armor as well as for jewelry.
