Herringbone (Ndebele) forms the basis for this necklace. A twisted herringbone stitch is used for the back area of the necklace, which splits to trap Czech firepolished beads. A little further along the rope, a larger cage is formed and filled with the firepolished beads. The piece is finished with freeform pearls and fringe. The necklace measures approximately 20 inches and closes with a self toggle made from a Delica bead loop and a pearl toggle. Simply slide the fat end of the pearl into the loop and then slide the loop over the point. Remove the loop in the reverse: point of pearl first then the fat end.
