Ah sweet butterflies...This lively expression of the flight path of two butterflies is the second piece from my new Art Nouveau inspired collection. This piece was created from a seven step process involving as many mediums, to create a lovely delicate vintage look that is reminiscent of porcelain raku. The process is so intense that I risk destroying the art with my application of the final few steps. Its worth the risk! These lovely qualities show on the print as well.

The result is Art Nouveau eye candy that transports you back in time to the romantic Victorian Era when all things feminine thrived and where our obsession with Steam Punk began.

I love Art Nouveau. In fact, just about every artist from the Impressionists to Post Impressionist movements, which includes great illustrators like Alphonse Mucha and Toulouse Lautrec, and the eternal Van Gogh. But Art Nouveau in particular, defining the Victorian era to me in terms of art, capturing the beauty of movement and the sumptuous and feminine lines of the human form, seems to hold a special place in my heart...I cant get enough!
