This listing is for 1 Raku on Black Handmade Lampwork 15mm Barrel Bead.

This auction is for one handmade lampwork Raku bead. These beads feature a base of rich black on which hand blown Raku shards have been carefully applied in the flame. The raku is then manipulated until the raku blossoms into it's rainbow of color. After that the beads are lightly acid-etched, giving them a velvety and satiny smooth look and feel. Etched beads have matte finishes which make them both visual and tactile delights. These striking beads do vary in size, but they measure approximately 15 - 16 x 13mm, and were hand wound on 1/16" mandrels.

Every effort is made to send you beads that "match" as to size, as well as in appearance, and shape. I understand how important your jewelry designs are to you, which is why I do the selections myself.

A most important part of the creation process involves the annealing of the bead. As annealing has a direct effect on the longevity, strength, durability, and continuing beauty of the piece, I use a kiln designed for temperatures in excess of 1000 degrees Fahrenheit. The temperatures are controlled digitally, by a state-of-the-art Fuji computerized controller, which is calibrated for optimum results.
