This ultra feminine flower hair clip combines a handmade ribbon flower with vintage filigree brass and a beautiful antique cultured pearl. The silk taffeta ribbon is a rich rust colour and dates to the early 1900's.
The bobby pin attaches to the back via a hand-stitched slot, allowing for it to be easily removed, should you wish to wear the flower as a brooch - a vintage brass safety pin will be included for this purpose.

This flower hair clip, as do all the hair ornaments from my Ravissant collection, takes its inspiration form the ornate and feminine hair adornments worn by ladies during the Renaissance and Baroque periods in Europe.
The wigs and hair styles of these periods were often used as a canvas to display elaborate jewelled creations, most often featuring pearls, gemstones and ribbons.
