I fell in love with these long rectangular-shaped Astrophyllite beads when I was traveling in New York, and happened upon a gemstone bead shop in the Fashion District.

I had never heard of Astrophyllite, so I looked it up when I got home, and found that this rare, beautiful black-brown gemstone with sparks of gold within, is treasured by many people for its metaphysical qualities. Its thought by some to promote well-being and self esteem and to assist in shedding negative behavior patterns.

In this necklace, I paired Astrophyllite with red coral and poppy jasper beads for contrast, with Bali silver bead accents.

The cable chain is Argentium anti-tarnish sterling silver, finished with a lobster clasp.

The total length of the necklace is 33 inches, but it can be worn between 30 and 33 inches.
