To create this dragonfly pendant, I handpainted the wings blue, and then carefully wiped away the paint to reveal the lacey details of the wings beneath.

The delicate blue dragonfly pendant is complemented with round blue lace agate beads on a chocolate patina brass link chain. Each blue lace agate bead has light, naturally occurring stripes, and each one is unique.

This necklace is a one-of-a-kind handmade treasure, and a perfect gift for the the passionate gardener.

I love dragonflies, and work with them often in my designs. The blue dragonfly, in particular, reminds me of a fishing trip I took once in my youth. Although I did not relish the actual fishing, I enjoyed being in a boat under the sun, and at one point, my friends and I rowed through a shimmering cloud of blue dragonflies in a marsh. It was like being transported to the mythical island of Avalon.
