A rare and unusual stone, Wavelite itself is the green crystal that forms in the host or matrix rock. The host rock does not take a high polish only a nice satin finish. It is polished on both sides, and the front displays the "Eye" of the wavelite crystal within the matrix.

Wavellite is a phosphate mineral, normally translucent green. It is found in fractures in aluminous metamorphic rock, in hydrothermal regions and in phosphate rock deposits. It is found notably in the Mount Ida, Arkansas area in the Ouachita Mountains.
