The border fabric on this quilted wall hanging reminds me of the colonial homes I saw in Sturbridge Mass. The applique is done by hand in broderie perse style, meaning I cut flowers and butterflies from a print fabric and appliqued them onto the quilt using a buttonhole stitch. After I hand quilted the piece, I washed it to give it the look of an old quilt. This is my own interpretation of a traditional basket design, and has my signature and date on the back. You can put this on a table or set it on the back of a sofa. It also has a sleeve on the back for hanging.It is machine washable.
