This country style wall hanging won an honorable mention at the 2010 New York State Fair. A trio of birdhouses amid hand dyed sunflowers are framed by a large blue star and autumn colored log cabin blocks. The center is hand appliqued with a buttonhole stitch. A wheat motif chosen for the hand quilting finishes off the look of a field out on the farm. The quilt is 45 inches by 45 inches. It has plastic rings on the back for hanging. It is also a good size for a lap quilt, or table topper.
This quilt is my own design.

This is a medallion quilt, meaning that the design has a center and borders are worked out from there. In the case of this quilt however, I started out with the gorgeous log cabin border design and worked my way into the center, choosing a large sawtooth star to accent the picture in the middle, and then I worked my way back out to the borders.
